SECOND WORKSHEET.

1) Opened photoshop and created an image that was 400x400 pixels. Using the render/filter tool, casted 3 colours of light to generate a white light.
2) Placed an object into second life and cast the 3 coloured lights. The value of those 3 lights were:

  • Red: ff000
  • Green: 0bf00b
  • Blue: 010391 (Birthday colour)
3) Birthday colour: 010391.
4) Description of additive colour: When light is added, a brighter light is created.
5) Description for subtractive colour: When more colours are added to create a "darker" colour.
6)
7) When walking out to the outdoor reading space, the frames holding pictures of the members in our group can be seen. When the bottom picture is touched, a messenger is prompted asking the avatar to load a URL. This URL leads to my blog.
8) Generated a material using an offset filter. Made a carpet in the main building using the generated filter.
STEPS:
  • Filter >> Other >> Offset.
  • Filter >> Render >> Brighten.
  • Channels: Shows where each colour is on the image you've created by giving the option of turning off each light. Each colour is represented by a number.
  • Add a new layer. This layer becomes "alpha" which is black, and blocks all colours. The other colours (red, blue and green) only emerge from the area that you rub out.
  • Save as PSD. Save a copy of that same image as a "targa" format so that it can be uploaded to second life.
9) Generated a material using alpha channel - the chairs in the study cubical.
10) Played with sculpties.
